The Final Post

Hello everyone!! Today is the last post in this semester :( 

I consider this semester have been enough stressing, however I am still alive hahaha, besides I think that it is the better form to relax you, to write about anything.

I have written nine blogs for English four, when I finished English three I said:

“I learnt to express my ideas, to comment other blogs and to read how other people drafting their blogs”

Now I think the same and even, I feel more capable now to write blogs.

The blogs I enjoyed writing they were Istanbul (a city I would like to visit), Funny concert, Chilean building and landmarks, A friend, Special dinner, Holydays in Neuquén and Fiestas Patrias. 

I like those post because I can write about my experience, I wrote about the place I have visited.

The posts, I don’t enjoyed writing they were "free post" one and two, and this blog. I don’t like the free post because It was too hard to begin to write it and I took a bit more time than usual. And I don´t like this post because it is the last and it is not easy to write it. 

I liked some blogs of my classmates how Catacombs in Lima (Yessenia R.) I was awesome for that topic, and even we talk about this in the lunch, other blog was Airam (Camila S.) I had to answer to Camila what is the name (Airam) mean? And She told me it’s Maria inverted. Other blogs “something artistic I like doing” I discovered Ingrid play guitar and Silvi Song any time, and I have also discovered things about Goye, Felo and Danae that I didn't Imagine. (They are my friends :))

Finally I feel very good, writing in this space.

I hope everyone finish their year very good.

Istanbul, Turkey

Hello everyone!! Today I am going to write about a city that I would like to visit.

The city that I would like to visit in the future because I like since I was a child, this city is Istanbul, in Turkey. That city has an important things and history.

Istanbul was called Constantinople in that city we find  Muslim culture and occidental culture, besides Istanbul is located between Asia and Europe.

Istanbul has important monuments how the Hagia Sophia Church, the Sultanahmet Camii, Blue Mosque, the Galata Kulesi, the Mosaic Museum, Topkapi Museum and the beautiful Castle of Dolmabahçe. And the history in Istanbul is also very interesting, because the city has changed for the different empires, beside Istanbul was the capital of Empire Roman East (byzantine), for this motive Istanbul is considered a World Heritage.

Although Ankara is the capital of Turkey, however Istanbul has an important inside Turkey for to have the principal Church of Orthodox religion.

The first thing I would do in Istanbul, is sailing the Bosphorus, this channel join Black sea with Marmara Sea. Moreover I would sail as in the day as in the night.

I would also visit the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque in a second day, because I believe they have awesome architectural and important center religious.

I would like also to have this experience, of living and to see how to cohabit the occidental culture and Muslim culture.

I would like to travel to Istanbul with my friends or my family.

Special dinner

Hello Everybody!! Today I am going to write about a special food that I have with my family.

We wanted to celebrate the birthday to my grandparents, and my uncle with my mother they planned birthday. Well, my grandparents were born the same day, October 24th, in different years.

My Mother and Uncle wanted to choose a special place to celebrate, and they found a Chinese food in La Florida, and they called to the restaurant and they reserved a table for ten persons. I remember it happened four or five years ago.

In that occasion, my mother decided to invite to my grandmother to our house for passing the day with us. Instead, my uncle invited to my grandfather to pass the day with them. My grandparents didn’t know nothing, in the rest of day it was ok, we shared with my grandmother, and in the afternoon we told her we had to go out and we took home.

My father drove until restaurant and we arrived there, my grandmother asked us why we were parking the car there.

My grandmother got out of the car and she was awesome, when she looked to my grandfather, they didn’t believe that surprise.

Well, I don’t remember exactly, but I know we ate Mongolian meat, Cantonese chicken, among others Chinese foods. Sincerely, it was a big dinner and we shared and we laughed a lot.

In that dinner, we ate out my grandparents, parents, sister, aunt, uncle and me, we were 8 people.

A Friend

Hello Everybody! I am going to write about my best friend, His name is Javier, we are friend since I can remember around 4 or 5 years.

Well, we are neighbors, he lives in front of my House. We are friends because we like the same thing how the same bands or music style, movies (Sometimes), he and I don´t read a lot, I do not believe we have a prefer author.

Since we were children (around 7 or 8), we did the same activity for example with other friends we played football, hide-and-seek, marbles, climbed the trees, rode bicycle and  in september we flew kites (I have to tell I have never learnd to fly kite, yet). In those years I remember a lot stories and I feel that it was a good time.

We grew up, I attended the same school for 3 years and we knew the best bands that we still listen how skillet, Linkin Park (┼), Thousand Foot Krutch, among other. In those years we learned to play chess and cards (Spain and English).

We also went camping to San José de Maipo, or we went to swimming pool to Pirque, Isla de Maipo or in Puente Alto.

Now, we are studying, he is studying Administration of enterprise and I study Geography we have less time, and sometimes we talk about our carrier or others things and also, we played PlayStation (Mortal Kombat, God of war or any play of football) or with friend we see football match (La Roja).

Chilean Building and Landmark

Hello everyone!! Today I am going to write about a Chilean building and landmark that I like.

How I live in Santiago, I can have had to know enough important building in Chile like Great Santiago Tower, Titanium Tower, La Moneda Palace, Telefonica building, Entel Tower, Airport, Cathedral, many museum, church and library so at downtown as periphery.

But an important building that I like for its structure, modernity, lighting and orange color when it enter there. I talk about cathedral of Chillan, despite of I am not catholic, and I consider it a great building. This cathedral is located in front of mean square in Chillan, how I have relative in that city I saw each two or three years. I went with my family. When I enter there I just walked in its inner and saw Via Crucis in its walls. 

A landmark important that I know and I like it is National Reserve “Bellotos del Melado”, This reserve is in Linares how 380 kilometers of Santiago, It’s hided in the range, it´s so beautiful and wonderful. I went two years ago I went only. I like because it have two things that I have always fascinated the nature and the range. I know that this place it’s not how Torres of Paine or Rapa Nui, however in the zone of Linares it’s enough known. I have impressed with other places how National reserve Malacahuello, Alto Biobío, Malleco, Conguilleo or Villarrica.

In Chile anyone can find different Chilean building or landmark, because we are a long and narrow country.

Free Post

Hello Everyone!! Today I am going to write about something that I get passionate a lot.

Actually, each person never have a passionate only, and besides, we changes our preferences as time goes by  us, or we live new experience that it transform in our passionate.

I have a topic that it gets to intrigue me enough. That topic is to visit new places, to meet a people and I also travel. I like this because I discovery a lot about diversity landscape, life style, culture, among others.

I don´t mind spending many hours if I go to a new place. When I arrive to this new place, I try to see everything how threes, people, among others.

Other things, that I get passionate a lot, they are to listen sound of violin and to watch documentary film.

With respect to music, when I need to concentrate me, I put videos of violin, viola or piano. I am always searching this in youtube. I sometimes played the violin for not stressing me.

When I have time, I watch documentary film, because I find a form to learn a lot, and it also show me different things that I do not be near me. Topic about Universe I find amazing and unique.

Holidays in Neuquén

 Hello everybody!! Today I am going to talk about a great holiday that I had in Argentina.

Well, I went to Neuquén in the south of Argentina, this place is in the middle of Patagonian Desert, they consider the biggest city in the Patagonia, besides Neuquén is a word of Mapuche origin, it means “confluence” and the city is situated to 1200 km to Buenos Aires.

I travelled with my parents, sister and grandmother. I remember that we travelled enough hours. We stayed for four days. We visited different cities in 22 national road.

Well, this trip begun in Chile and we cross to Argentina, In Chile we were in Curacautin and Lonquimay, so we passed in Pino Hachado, when we already stayed in Argentina. We did many activities, in Las Lajas we went to museum history and regional and we also were in the river Agrio.

In Zapala, we were in monument “First residents” and I surprised the big difference between landscapes Chilean (Vegetation is green and big trees) and landscape Argentinian (vegetation is small, without big trees and arid). We passed Cutral-co and Plaza Huincul and I remember we visited a plant where it extract Oil, besides we saw oil pipeline it was interesting to learn about Oil and its different processes. 

We visited the hydroelectric in Limay River, we passed Senillosa and Plottier, finally we arrived to Neuquén, it is a big city we visited the downtown, central Park and Neuquén River. 

I enjoyed that trip because I shared with my family and I could knew other culture less stressed than us, I would like to go back to Neuquén any day.

Fiestas Patrias

Hello everyone, today I am going to talk about what I did in “Fiestas Patrias” or National day. In Chile this day is always celebrated in September 18th every year.

This year (2017) in Chile we have five days to celebrate the “Fiestas Patrias” (September 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th) in that days you can do diversities activity. Well I didn´t do many activities those “Fiestas Patrias”.

Friday I decide not to do anything and just relaxed and slept, due to I had a stressed last week.

Saturday I cleaned my room in the morning and in the afternoon I watched movie. Beside I also watched One Piece (I haven´t watched for many week).

Sunday I shared with my parents, my brother and my sister, we prepared the traditional “Asado of Fiestas Patrias” and around five o’clock My Parents with my brother went to Paine’ Fondas because my brother wanted to know and to play and different traditional games. And I stayed with my sister in our house taking with friends that they visited us.

Monday We visited my Grandparents had lunch with them, in the afternoon we visited my cousins.

Tuesday I watched movies because I don´t like “Parada Militar”, And in the afternoon I was with my friend.

In this “Fiestas Patrias” I didn´t do a lot but I could relax in those days.

Normal weekend

Hello everybody!! Today I am going to talk about something I did the last weekend.

The last weekend, I didn´t have a lot activities because I was preparing to go back after ten days on strike. When I knew that the faculty didn´t be on strike, I had to read any documents and papers, do any homework and study for two tests.

The last Saturday, I wake up around 9 am and then I went to the market street (It’s near to my house) when I was ok with that, I proposed to read the documents and papers and do my homework for Sunday only to study for the test.

I had four texts, they call “Des espaces autres” (Foucault, M.), “Los primeros humanos en América” (Fernández, A.), “La reforma agraria Chilena” (Bellisario, A.) and “Desafíos de la pequeña agricultura frente a la globalización” (Chiriboga, M.). When I finished with the documents and papers, I began to do my homework. I had to paint one cartography about Hydrogeology in the area of Arica and Iquique and finally I started to do format for a “Lamina” that I would should do for my subject.

The last Sunday, I was just studying Hydrology in the morning and then I studied Rural Geography. In the first studied many process about rivers and sedimentary and the second Studied agro history in Chile.

And that was the last weekend. Regards!!!

A Concert funny

Hi Everyone!! Today, I am going to talk about a Concert.

I remember a good Concert rather than singer, who was Marc Anthony, It was being with my cousins.

Well, I was in a concert of Marc Anthony when he come to “Estadio Nacional” in October 2012. Before to attend to the concert, I knew Marc is a good singer, who have written song how “Valio la pena”, “Te conozco bien”, “Ahora Quien”, “Hasta Ayer”, among others. Besides it was marriage with Jennifer Lopez.

The concert was in Ñuñoa, in “Estadio Nacional”. I can tell us that day was rained, jajaja I remember in all month don´t rain but I just rained that day. I didn´t have a problem with that, however my cousins got upset before to enter for that situation.

I attended with my cousins Johanna and Katherine, They are sister, Katy and I have the same age and Jovi is older than us. They planned to attend the concert and I decided to go with them. I always knew that to go with them it was going to have fun.

I enjoyed that concert, when we arrived to “Estadio Nacional” we hoped for three hours, there were a lot women singing his song and then we entered I have never seen women running and discussing for to be the first in the raw, Inclusive they fell and then they run normally, I just laughed I didn´t believe that situation. We were in “Cancha”, Before Marc it was a Band I can remember its name, but the same women, who running, and now they screamed “Que se vayan” they only want to see a Marc.

When Marc was on the stage, it began to rain and people opened them umbrella and again the same group of women began to scream “I can´t see”. With my cousins we laughed whole concert.

Finally I enjoyed listening to Marc but the best was that group of women.

how to coexist in the street, Santiago (Free Post)

Hello Everybody!! I am going to talk about cars, buses (Transantiago) and people.

I have always considered that in Chile, we don´t coexist in harmony, because actually I don´t know if drivers know the traffic laws, the most of the time seems they don’t know it, for what I think they are very individualist, they doesn't care about anyone.

For example I think that if there are passengers in the bus stop, every bus must stop without to lift the arm; because if the sign told for example 303 (line) stop here, when the bus pass for there the driver have to detain in that place.

I believe when there are a bus, which to take a street or an avenue; the cars should have to let it to go before them. Due to in the bus could go eighty people, who need to arrive to their destiny, in contrast in the car, there are one person, sometimes.

And finally, when you want to walk or we need to cross any street or avenue, we have to worry for cars and buses, which don´t respect to anyone. They believe being owners of the streets or roads. They mustn´t pass in red light or crosswalk without to slow down its velocity.

In Chile there aren´t respect for other people, in any sense. Every person live their life without respect to anybody, is notorious especially about the little respect to each others in the streets.

My ability in the artistic

Hello Everyone I am going to talk about “the artistic things that I like to do”

I don´t believe to be an artistic person, despite I like this area, I do not consider to have the best ability for literature, art or music.

The artistic things that I do, In literature I write a little in my free time but I read any things, with respect to art I just draw and paint when it’s extremely necessary, I am really bad :C.

In the music I get to have more ability, I can play instruments, which are Guitar, Mandolin and Violin.

I remember when I was eight years old I could play my first guitar and when I was growing up, I learnt to play the other Instruments. In 2013 I could already play mandolin and I recently bought my Violin, I am learning because I don´t have so much time.

I don´t play any kind of music, I just play any song that I like or I listen in my computer or radio.

When I have any time or I have less responsibility I enjoy playing enough my instruments because I get relaxed and I also have a good moment.

Hello Everyone!!

Today, I am going to talk about my experience using blogs in the English class.

This year I have written nine blogs, when I began, I found it pretty difficult for me how I just think in number words, I have to write. However, while I pass the blogs I learn to write of better manner.

In general, my experience about blogs was interesting because I can learn to express my ideas, to comment other blogs and to read how other people drafting their blogs. Besides I understand how important is to have a big vocabulary, due to it gives a facility when you want to write.

I feel that I have gotten to develop my skill optimize manner and I can let to say that I have a new skill in my life.

I would like to include in the future, I believe that I would keep this system because I found interesting and I enjoyed. But any topics I would change it.

I would like to write about beach, transport, animals, plants, space, history, city, art, sports, news, tourism, countries, among others.

Cultural Geography

Hello Everyone!!

Today, I am going to talk about my favorite subject in Geography.

This subject that I like, is Cultural Geography; because I have gotten to learn a lot about different items or topic related with society, community and individual.

The topics that I saw and learnt in class were:

- What is Cultural Geography
- Diffusion and structure of culture
- Huxley’s Model
- Heritage: Definition and application in the city
- Perception, Identity, Subjectivity, alterity, gentrification and Imaginaries applied in the society through Mental Maps and Participative Cartography
- Local Culture v/s Global Culture
- Landscapes as Urban as Rural, and territory
- Development Touristic and cultural Touristic

I have to apply those topics in an investigation in Valparaiso, that city was named Heritage of humanity in 2003, my investigation is especially based in two areas (Cerro Placeres y Larraín).

I investigate, how does the new buildings affect the local identity and community in cerro Larraín and Placeres?

Why do I like this Subject? I like Cultural Geography, because I enjoyed to learn new things, besides I can see a wonderful city like Valparaiso.

Hi Everybody !! Today, I am going to talk about a website related to Geography career.

"Urban Platform" is a website, where you can find related-things with architecture, cities, people, environment, transport, connectivity, projects, indexes, Demography, Geography, among others. Also there are constantly published news about topics that are mentioned before, with images.

Also if you look up a website where you could give your opinion of professional form, uploading an article or even seek an event related with topics mentioned.

I have to mention that "Urban Platform" provides urban guides, where allusion to infrastructure and its form of each city, it's for Chilean's cities as world cities.

  

When I found "Urban Platform" in 2016. I visit it each week, because I have always interested in that topics and the most important is that talk about Geography.

I like "Urban Platform" due to I am informed about the contingency, I also learn a lot about project for Santiago and other cities in the next years.

Photograph ..........

Hi everyone!! Today, I am going to talk “Photographs”

In general, my favorite photographs are about landscapes, animals, forest, among others, however I also like the past photograph about the families, houses or transport in the last century and also the events in the past that were important.

Now I comment about a photograph that when I found it, I didn´t like a lot. But it´s representative and also it shows horrors and hardships of a war.

This photograph was taken in black and white by Phan Thi Kim Phúc, on june 8th, 1972 (it´s near to turn forty five years).

In the photograph there are children, who were attacked with napalm bomb. They are also with soldiers in the image. That occurred in Vietnam´s war.

I don´t like it a lot, because it shows sadness, hardship, among other emotion relations with the war. In resume it´s important to remember that we must to coexist and to share in harmony.

Music............

Hi Everyone!! Today, I will talk about Music.

I believe I don´t have any preference for any kind of music in special. However, I prefer to choose the music for rhythm and content; that way is how I choose the songs or music.

When I listen to music or song that I like, I always move my right foot, always.  But not my head or body, I don´t like more.

If I have to tell any band or group that I like…. I enjoy groups such as Soda stereo, Los Prisioneros, among others, that’s in Spanish; and English I like Linkin Park, Nikelback, Nirvana, among others. In general their songs, I like.

I have never attended to a concert, because I don´t consider a big fan to go or follow to the bands or groups that I mentioned. But I like the people to go or follow his/ her favorite band or group.

Books.....

Hi everybody! Today, I will talk about books.

In this moment, I just can remember one book, which I read in first grade, the book´s name is “Matrioska”. Its history related about carpenter, who makes doll in base a piece of wood. That was the first book I read alone and I remember.

I don´t believe I have an author favorite, because when I read I don´t have any preferences, about authors and kind of books.

Do I have any favorite book? I had never thought whether I have a favorite book, and I don´t have any tending about topics in especial to read either.

Now, I’m not reading anything, and I´m just reading documents, texts and books associated to University; I hope to read some book in my vacation.

Finally, I want to mention I fancy reading books  without import its size.

Piece of technology

Hi everyone. It´s difficult for me to know what is my favorite piece of technology, because there are a lot things that I use every day. Well, I think, my cellphone is my favorite piece of technology.

In my birthday, I got my cellphone (it was a gift) because the last cellphone was stolen. I use it every day but no all-time, due to I believe that technology help me, however I don´t live for it.

I like my cell, ´cause it has a lot applications, which satisfy my different necessities For example when I get lost any place I use the GPS or also, I need to translate a word I use the translate’ application.

If I didn´t have my cellphone, what would I do? I believe, I would be more relax, because I wouldn´t receive messages very late in the night.

I chose this career because..... 

Hi everyone, when I was a child, my dream job had been to be pilot. Because I liked to know new places with their people, animals and landscapes.

While I grew up, my preferences were changing, until I had found two ways. On one hand I wanted to study science in special chemistry and on the other hand I desired to study Geography. Finally I decided to study Geography, due to it represents my interests.

My experience at the University has been very good, I have gotten good friends, which I can share, laugh and learn of them.

I´ve not thought about the kind of job that I would like to do with I am studying it now. However I know that I will do it happily.

Hello:

My name is Sergio Aguilera F. I was born in 1994, Santiago and I have always lived here.

I’m studying geography in University of Chile since. When I began high school in 2009 I made good friends, with whom I shared and have shared good moments, despite of choose different areas.

I have a siblings, I spend my afternoons with them when I go back at home. I like talking with their. With my brother I always help with his homework and we always talk about our day with my sister. I feel I have built a good relation with them.

When I was younger I liked drawing and seeing maps, such as now. Other hobbies I like watching a movie and visiting my friends.  

My name is Sergio, I'm studying Geography in FAU (Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo). I chose this career because I would like to organize and plan different things; and Geography is given me that possibility.

If I had the option to study other career, I would select again Geography. I feel that Geography has been comfortable for me, through different subjects.

About faculty, I like the green areas and the maps library because I always get relaxed in these areas, on the other hand I dislike the fence with FEN; I always get upset I have to look for other way.

I consider important to live in a society stable and free. and other things important for me are my family and my friend's FAU.
